Summer Learning Journey-Shadow Art

The day this Summer Learning Journey activity was released I couldn’t do it outside because it was raining. But the days after, I was finally able to complete it. I thought I should try and find a plant with a butterfly, but I just chose any plant near me. It was kind of hard to trace the shadow of the plant because the wind kept pushing the leaves but I eventually got it. I also traced another plant nearby to make it look less spacious.

I colored the blue plant shadow blue because I thought it would make the picture a bit brighter. But to be honest, I’m not liking the color I chose. I think if I colored both black then it would be pretty cool. It didn’t take me a while to do this but I loved this activity. It reminds me of the time when my sister and I would grab a flashlight, turn off all the lights, and play shadow puppets. I was only able to make a “dog” shadow. I have seen those videos where those people are able to make Gangnam Style.

Have you ever seen people do unique shadows?

Summer Learning Journey- The sound of pure Ballet

Making my own music was pretty hard, but I finally got it! At first I started making a random mess and it didn’t really sound good. But then I took my time and just went with it, carefully. I then ended up with a some-what better version of my old one. I really love this version because it reminds me of the music they have at Ballet shows. I remember my entire school went to a Ballet show, it was very awesome and enjoyable. Their dances was beautiful and the actors themselves were beautiful too! My teacher told me that Ballet is the most fittest sport. I was very surprised, im pretty sure everyone in my class was suprised. Do you admire or love to watch Ballet?

“Ode to Joy” may seem like a ordinary old school song, but it has precious memories. On the day of Beethovens performance, the crowd loved it! But Beethoven kept conducting but eventually one of the people apart of this project stopped him and turned him around to the crowd. Although the crowd were cheering, they knew that Beethoven couldn’t hear quite well. So they threw their hats into the air to show how much they loved him.

Summer Learning Journey-Vibrant Viola

I love Summer Learning Journey activites where online music and digital art is involved. When I was young I wanted to be able to play the piano or the violin. But now I want to play an electric guitar or even play the drums. The “Viola the Bird” activity is very awesome. It was pretty easy for me and it reminds me of a game called “Friday Night Funkin” or FNF, it was a really popular rythym game in 2021 I think. But I enjoyed playing it, especially the different types of mods. Do you have a favourite rythym game?

Here are some facts about Beethoven, the guy that wrote “Ode to Joy”. Beethoven’s last words before he died was “Pity,Pity! Too late!”. The day he died was also the day he lost his hearing. His father refreshed him, meaning Beethoven felt more energy and younger. His father was also an alcoholic, which made his life even harder. He wasn’t married to anyone, but he seemed to be very romantic.

Summer Learning Journey-Ping Pong battle

For todays Summer Learning Journey activity, there were some difficulties. The 1st problem was how I should have my obstacle course. 2nd problem was how I was going to record and the 3rd problem was having to show my face. I don’t really like showing myself in projects or school work but I try and get it done with. All of my problems were solved, with the help of my Mom.

Although it seemed easy, I failed 6 or 7 times but I finally got it. One of the attempts, the ball hit my head! It was pretty funny. This activity was very enjoyable, it also makes me question how long do youtubers set up their crazy trick shot challenges. How long do you think it takes to make a crazy challenge?

Summer Learning Journey-Colour Block Landscape

This SLJ activity is definetely one of my favourites. I chose this picture because the background looked very beautiful and stunning. It reminds me of my cute bunny doll I have. What is your favourite doll? As the video said, I made the cliff and the couple really big to make it look like its close to me. The rest was easy for me, but the sun and trees took me a while to think.

Im proud of my complete project, but I’m thinking the trees and sun are a bit strange. I  added a pattern to the sun to make it stand out more, but I think I should’ve added a reflection too.

Summer Learning Journey-Blowflies profile

Although I hate bugs, I like to study them whenever I get the chance too. I chose Blowflies because they’re the first bug in new zealand I thought of. its so annoying and frustrating when they fly around and put their germs on my food, especially in the Summer. The blowfly is probably the bug I dislike the most. What bug do you despise?

Summer Learning Journey-Snakes and Ladders (Multiplication Edition)

I have done completed the “Step it up” Activity, but this time I asked one of my friends to join me. And as I said in the last Snakes and Ladders activity, this was more enjoyable than playing alone. My friend “Justin” is smart so he was pretty good at solving the questions. And as expected he won, but it was a very fun game. I suggest this game for those who love math and enjoy board games.

I have a question, What is your favourite board game to play with your family?

Summer Learning Journey-Snakes and Ladders

For this Summer Learning Journey activity, I didn’t really know what to do. I knew how to play the game, but I didn’t know what or how to show my work. Maybe I should ask one of my friends to play with me next time.

I decided to play alone and the game was pretty fun, even if you’re playing alone but thats just my opinion. At the start it was pretty easy for me, I also decided to solve the equation questions just so the viewer can know. The middle was a bit hard but I got through it. The last part kept frustrating me. I kept climbing up ladders and sliding down snakes but eventually I ended the game.

I really loved this game, but I should’ve played with a buddy so it can make it even more exciting! In fact, this reminds me of a New Zealand book I read called “Snakes and Ladders”. The story was nothing what I expected, but it was very good. Do you like reading books in your free time?

Summer Learning Journey-Underwater…Robot?

My underwater robot was kind of built like a rocket. But the reason why its designed like a fish is so it could fit in with the other fish and not scare them away. If this robot was real, hopefully it would survive from dangerous sea creatures. I really loved this activity, it reminds me of the robot toys my little brother has. Its mostly dinosaur robot toys, Do you have any robot toys?

Summer Learning Journey- Under the Sea

Jellyfish,Seahorses and crabs are one my favourite creatures that live in the sea.

Fun fact! Did you know that most Seahorses are monogamous (Only have/had 1 partner in their life) and they mate forever?  If only some people were like Seahorses. And did you know that Blobfishes dont have any bones or muscles? They also don’t have teeth!

But the blobfish is my favourite, although it might look ugly and smell gross I think it looks pretty cute. It also reminds me of myself, just lying around all day doing nothing. What is your favourite sea creature? And what are some interesting facts about them?
