Summer Learning Journey-CosmicQuest: Family Disaster!

My last comic strip had a story where there were drama and a little bit of revenge. But for this comic strip, I decided to make the most randomest story possible. Before you ask, I do not know if theres actually a meaning to this story so you think about it. Does this comic strip have an important message? Or is it just a random story? Comment down your opinion.

  1. Kia ora Madelyn,

I like how your story has multiple settings and a range of different characters. I don’t know if your story does have a message but lots of stories don’t necessarily have messages, they are just fun to read and often fun for the author to write. Did you enjoy writing your comic? I enjoyed reading it, I thought it was quite funny. My favourite part was when the alien showed up.

I was wondering what your process was for your comic. Did you plan it first on paper or did you just let your mind wander and see where the story writing process took you?

This morning a new Summer Learning Journey activity was posted called ‘Where’s Wally’ which looks like a fun activity. I thought you might enjoy it. Check it out. https://summerlearningjourney.edublogs.org/2023/12/15/wheres-wally-this-summer-kick-start/

How are you today? And yes I did enjoy creating this comic, well kind of. To be honest, I planned my story at first but then just randomly went for it at the end.

I cannot wait to do the new Summer Learning Journey activity, but I’ll try and do the activities before that one. Thank you so much for commenting on my work, I really appreciate it.

Have a fantastic time during your holidays!

    1. Kia ora Madelyn,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment.

I don’t think that’s uncommon to start a story with a plan or at least an outline but once you get started it slowly evolves and turns into something else. I have heard that some authors don’t even plan the end of their stories; they just start writing and it eventually comes to them. I think I’d probably be the planning type of author.

What has been your favourite Summer Learning Journey activity so far?
